Bro, Uthaya I read and
admire your writings in BM but do not use it to run down our SJKTs. Accepted
fact the standard of BM in SJKCs is far worse but they never wash dirty linen
for all races to see. Instead work with the SJKTs to further enhance the
standard. Remember in no way the SKs and SMKs will encourage Tamil to be taught
there. They have changed the character of the schools by apeing the Arabs and
conversion is done subtly via peer pressure. In SMKs our Tamil students are
discouraged and worst still prevented from signing up for SPM Tamil and Tamil
literaturem. MOE does not have in their Surat Pekeliling Ikhtisas that says
this. Even if the school does not teach the subject you can sign up and take
the exam with external private tuition. What is your stand on this? Write about
this injustice propagated by some little Nepoleons in some SMK schools in Kluang
Johor. I am sure this is the tip of the iceberg. Every school has it weakness
but as a responsible writer it is best that you work with SJKTs not against
them. I sent my all my kids to SJKT and they all did well in both SMK and
university. And I am not the lone Tamilian. We have SJKT products in so many
local public and private universities , polytechnics ,Kolej Komuniti and ILP.
Times have changed and but you have not kept abreast with the changes. Agreed
we have a dwindling enrolment but this is besides a multitude of challenges
like lack of Tamil pride amongst our M40 and T20 Tamils in Penang and Perak
there issues with the current government dragging their feet on new buildings,
relocation of SJKTs to densely populated Indian areas where there is demand.
Johor Bahru is a good example. There are leaders in our community who insist on
having SJKTs in their area despite not having the demand. Remember without
SJKTs our Tamil culture and religion would dissappear from this beloved land
Msia we call home.
Ir.U.Ramendran MIEM
former PTA chairman
2012-2016
SJKT Jln Haji Manan
Kluang Johor
Ramendran Ulaganathan (calon bebas) menerima 404 undi berbanding calon DAP
(49,801 undi), calon MCA (23,395), dan calon Bersatu (22,021 undi). [sumber]
“I am basically a busybody,
because I was in a Tamil school. I know the B40s. Some of them, they cannot read even a simple thing in the Malay
language. [But] the digital content of
quality, most of it is in the English language or it’s in Malay. It is not in
the Tamil medium.”
Ramendran said that the intention
to help his community is what also led him to enrol his four children into a
Tamil medium school here (SJKT Jalan Haji Manan, Kluang), to understand the
situation of the B40 community, especially the ethnic Indians. [sumber]
“Again, like I said, because I do
not have a party leader, I don’t answer to anybody. ... The easiest thing to do
is give up. What I’m saying is, what’s the worst that can happen to me? ... So
what? At least I have tried. This is what is lacking now in the country. We are
to blame. … Some of them (Indians), they cannot read even a simple thing in the
Malay language. [But] the digital content of quality, most of it is in the
English language or it’s in Malay. It is not in the Tamil medium.” [sumber]
Maka, saya mengucapkan terima kasih (thanks for admitting that what I wrote is true)
kerana sesungguhnya Ramendran bersetuju dengan hujah-hujah saya berkaitan
kelemahan yang wujud.
Kemudian, saya cuba menjawab satu per satu pertanyaannya.
Saya faham bahawa dia suka menulis (he
wanted a pen as his logo as he likes writing – sumber) dan tentu dia juga suka membaca
penjelasan saya. Tulisannya pula – apabila disemak menerusi Google – hanyalah komen-komen di
media sosial khasnya Facebook; bukan
tulisan akademik di mana-mana jurnal.
Jawapan saya (disalin dari Facebook):
“Write about this injustice
propagated by some little Nepoleons in some SMK schools in Kluang Johor.” – Since
you seem to have the data, YOU should be writing about it. Be fair. Don’t
expect me to expose everything. Others (like you) should play a role too. (Note:
he wanted a pen as his logo as he likes
writing – sumber)
Ramendran, if you expect
me to say wonderful and beautiful things about the things YOU like (and hide
the dirty linen), you are actually fooling yourself. Be ready to accept facts.
Facts hurt, but only when you accept the facts, you can correct them.
“Times have changed and
but you have not kept abreast with the changes.” – Yes, easy to deny the Truth.
So, I have nothing to say to people who are not willing to accept Truth.
“Accepted fact the
standard of BM in SJKCs is far worse but they never wash dirty linen for all
races to see.” – This reminds me of a Tamil saying, ‘If he is eating shit, are
you going to eat shit too?’ Anyway, I admire the classic style of diverting the
original fact (SJKT) and start blaming others (SJKC). Now, that is another
classic problem among some people – denial. Anyway, you are an educated person.
I shall not waste my time explaining facts and Truth to you. Please keep on
denying Facts and Truth if that’s the only way you find happiness in life.
Thank you.
“Every school has it
weakness but as a responsible writer it is best that you work with SJKTs not
against them.” – You clearly do not know about what I do. So, I forgive you.
Facts are facts.
“Remember without SJKTs our Tamil culture and religion would dissappear
from this beloved land Msia we call home.” – The classic political statement to
deny the Fact and Truth, as if the Tamil parents are too stupid to educate
their children about their own culture and religion. SJKT is a school, not a
religious body. But you are an educated person. I shall not waste your time
explaining these simple things to you.
Susulan penjelasan saya, Ramendran mula mengubah taktik
serangan. Dia sebenarnya mula menyerang ibu bapa komuniti Tamil. Dia secara
licik mula meletakkan semua kesalahan atas bahu ibu bapa Tamil berstatus B40
dan M40. Katanya:
When you get down to the
ground and immerse yourself in community work only then you will understand. Many Tamils take the easiest and safest route providing
lip service and hope someone else even other races will solve our community
issues. Anyway you are entitled to your opinion.
If
you get down to the ground you will realise how bad the parenting is amongst
our B40s and some M40s. T20s not too bad but many heavily by the western
values to the extend the condemn our own culture to look good in front of other
races and gain acceptance.
Memandangkan saya sudah memahami psikologi bercelaru
individu yang terpaksa memakai topeng ala politikus lidah bercabang, saya sekadar
mengucapkan terima kasih (thanks for admitting the ACTUAL problem) kepada
Ramendran dan cuba mengakhiri perbincangan.
“Anyway you are entitled to your
opinion.” – Of course. And my “opinion” (in the said article) is based on facts,
truth, observation, discussion, etc. How wonderful if the highlighted issues
were looked into ten years ago, rather than denying those issues (“dirty linen”
as you put it).
Bacalah
dengan teliti:
First of all did you study
in a SJKT to share your bad experience there? Since you are good in BM most
probably you completed your primary school in a SK but not necessarily so. Many
who went to SJKTs can also speak, read and write proficiently in BM. Perhaps not
got enough for Sastera Negara because it a National language and used to speak
to Malay colleagues, business associates and dealing with the government
service.
What is your direct
contribution to the SJKTs?
1.Your children went to
SJKTs and were affected negatively?
2.You are a SJKT PTA member
who was frustrated with the committee’s performance?
3.You are a SJKT PTA
chairman who could not push your noble agenda because the HM was not supportive.
4. You were in some way
contributing to the SJKT through your exceptional fluency in BM and it was
stopped after the HM changed.
5. You had contributed in
other ways but we’re not appreciated or were asked to stop your contribution.
If your writings on SJKTs
are solely based on opinions and interviews and not personal experience then
you are not qualified to offer any negative judgements about SJKTs. You
writings on Tamil schools are merely based on your biased opinions and others
of your tribe. Academic writings in fb and blog spots can never effect change.
You have to get your hands dirty.
Expecting change with ‘clean’
hands is just what keyboard warriors do and the community has no respect for
folks like this. I speak from experience.
Rasa marah saya bertukar simpati kerana saya faham dia
rakan-rakan [sumber], Ramendran perlu cuba
Malangnya, dia
tidak berani melakukan semua itu di Facebook
sendiri kerana (mungkin) tiada sambutan.
Dia juga meluahkan kekecewaan diri sendiri menerusi kata-kata
seperti “Academic writings in fb … can never affect change. … the community has
no respect for folks like this. I speak from experience.”
Ramendran, I understand
how frustated your are since you failed in all the things you listed above. I
pity you. I understand that you are merely trying to share your own failures
and frustations by commenting here. You would not dare to share your failures
regarding SJKT on your own Facebook because you have to
keep pretending to your “friends”. I understand. Please continue commenting
here; I understand that you need to talk about your own failures which you find
too hard to face. I understand and I forgive you.
Apa-apa pun, nampaknya tulisan saya sepuluh tahun lalu
kembali mendapat perhatian. Tambahan pula, kritikan konstruktif saya menerusi rencana
bertajuk “Persoalan Kempen SJKT Pilihan Kita”
