Dipika Mukherjee is confident that everything is going to be fine and she would not be detained under ISA and her novel Thunder Demons would not be banned in Malaysia.
She commented after reading the prologue of the novel during panel session as part of the Writers Unlimited Tour at The Annexe Gallery, Central Market, Kuala Lumpur on 11 June 2011.
“However, I am still looking for a Southeast Asian Publisher so that this book does not need to be smuggled into Malaysia,” she wrote on Facebook.
The Professor of Linguistics at Shanghai International Studies University, China was initially concerned that certain parts of the novel would make readers associate the events with certain insidents in Malaysia.
Thunder Demons is to be published by Gyaana Books in July 2011 and is expected to be on sale in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
